Location: Lawrence Hall of Science

Lawrence Hall of Science is on Centennial Drive in the Berkeley hills east of the main UC Berkeley campus. It is just above the UC Botanical Gardens.
Car-pooling is encouraged, Directions to the Lawrence Hall of Science.
The campus shuttle does NOT run on weekends, but the AC transit #65 bus does, here's the schedule and route map -- it takes 25 minutes to get from downtown Berkeley BART to the Lawrence Hall of Science, the bus runs once per hour on weekends, and leaves downtown Berkeley at the half hour (i.e. 9:30, 10:30, etc).
People do ride bikes up the hill, but it is steep, and a fairly long distance, so don't plan on doing that unless you have already done it before and know what you're getting into.
Likewise, for walking/hiking up - there isn't a safe pedestrian path beside the road the entire way - but it is possible to go up Strawberry Canyon on the fire trails if you know where you're going.

Parking:

Since volunteer parking varies by day and time -- Information about parking and unloading materials is included with each day's volunteer list.
For visits to the Fair when you are not volunteering, please use the regular, LHS public parking - the lots are operated by the University of California parking system.
  • Permit machines are located in the vista lot and near the entrance to the LHS plaza.
  • Parking rates are $1.50 for the first hour and $1.00 for each additional hour. You may either pay the self-service parking machines, or on Saturday and Sunday you have the option of paying a flat fee of $3.50 at the LHS admissions desk inside. You will need to provide the parking stall number in which you have parked your car.
  • The machines take quarters and small bills only
  • Please note the number of your parking stall before leaving your car; the parking machines will ask for your parking stall number
  • You will receive a receipt at the machine, but you do not need to return to your car to display the receipt.
  • There are some (free) disabled parking places near the front entrance

Just so you know... cell phone reception is iffy and there is no public WiFi at the Hall of Science.
